JungleWrites Website Image.jpg

The goal of the JungleWrites program is to give young women+ ages 14–18 the tools to be confident in their voice as artists and to feel like a part of the Twin Cities theater community.

The summer session, taught by Cristina Castro, will teach playwriting fundamentals and examine absurd theater. No playwriting or theater experience is needed.

Local high-school students will be selected to participate in the program, which runs for four weeks starting July 25 and ending August 15. Classes will meet at the Guthrie Theater in the Livingston Conference Room.

Each student will receive a mentor, a woman+ theater professional in the Twin Cities, who will be in touch weekly throughout the whole session.

This program is generously made possible by the Minnesota State Arts Board.
