Crafting a World Premiere

The playwriting process has many steps: research, writing, workshops, and many hours of rewriting and editing, and we're proud to have watched the work grow and develop over the year.

But this project has been in the works for long before Katie Ka Vang joined the Jungle as a member of our artistic cohort.

2013

The first draft of the script is written while Katie Ka Vang is at graduate school at Brown University! 

FAST FWD MOTIONS was part of The Bushwick Starr Reading Series; about 6 months after the first draft was written.

SIXPACK (then titled FAST FWD MOTIONS) has a week-long workshop with public sharing in the Jungle's Summer Showcase. The show was announced as part of the 2024/25 Season, show art by Cassandra Xiong.

Winter & Spring 2025

Rewrites and a name change! FAST FWD MOTIONS officially becomes SIXPACK
