These are stand-alone classes offered on multiple dates on the Jungle stage—take one or join for both.

Devising Workshop (Mondays April 13 & 20 | 6:30-9:30pm at the Jungle Theater)
In this play-based workshop, participants will get hands-on experience creating theater on their feet through devising. Using games, small group exercises, prompts, scripted text, and the collective imagination in the room, we’ll generate brand-new work together. This class is a chance to stretch your skills as a collaborator and improviser, and to begin thinking beyond yourself as the sole performer of a story.

Clowning and Play for the Actor (Tuesdays April 14 & 21 | 6:30-9:30pm at the Jungle Theater)
Free your natural silliness and hit the mute button on your inner critic. This joyful, fast-paced workshop helps participants unlock their innate playfulness, deepen their listening, and become more inventive, responsive performers. Come ready to take risks, be surprised, and reconnect with the pleasure of play.

Even as we pause productions, the Jungle remains committed to showing up for the artists who make our work possible. Offering classes with cohort member Allison Vincent is one way we can stay in practice together—creating space for performers to keep working, build skills, and stay connected to one another.

These classes are rooted in the same values that guide our work onstage: rigor, curiosity, and collaboration. By opening our doors in this way, we hope to nurture the ecosystem of artists in the Twin Cities and keep the practice of making theater alive and evolving, even in this moment of pause.
