The Artistic Director is a co-equal partner with the Managing Director and reports to the Board.

The Managing Director is hired by the Board of Directors to provide fundraising, administrative and fiscal leadership for the Jungle Theater. The managing director is responsible to lead progress toward achieving the Jungle’s strategic priorities. The Managing Director is a co-equal partner with the Artistic Director and reports to the Board.

 

Kelly M Turpin - Development Director

Kelly connects the dots between The Jungle’s mission and donor, foundational, and community support. Her career in artistic development has included work with The Southern Theater, Cantus, most recently the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, and she currently serves on the board of ComMUSICation.

As Associate Director of Artistic Programming and Development, Alison runs the Jungle's BOLD New Works Reading Series. She reads new scripts and works with the Artistic Director to explore new artistic opportunities for the Jungle. She also works with the Development Director to coordinate fundraising initiatives to support the Jungle's exciting work.

The Artist and Audience Services Manager leads our efforts to create a welcoming experience for artists and patrons. She oversees box office and concessions operations.

Carly Caputa - Marketing Manager

The Marketing Manager develops strategies and action plans that generate awareness of the Jungle and its programs in target audiences, driving attendance and ticket sales. She is responsible for all website, print, social media and e-marketing efforts, as well as media relations.

Matt Earley - Production Manager/Facilities

The production manager manages budgets and schedules for Jungle activities, and he manages the technical resources of the theater. As facility manager, he also oversees ongoing building maintenance and assists in planning for capital improvement projects.

Jungle Artist Cohort Members

Katie Ka Vang - She/They

Katie Ka Vang is a Hmong American playwright and storyteller. Her work explores the complexity of cultures & communities, diaspora, dis-ease, and transformation. Her work includes AGAIN the musical, Fertile Grounds, WTF, Hmong Bollywood, 5:1 Meaning of Freedom; 6:2 Use of Sharpening, Fast FWD Motions, In Quarantine, FINAL ROUND, and Spirit Trust. Her work has been developed and presented at East West Players, Mixed Blood Theater, Pangea World Theater, Pillsbury House Theatre, Theater Mu, Leviathan Lab, Bushwick Starr, Brown University, The Royal Court Theatre, The Walker Art Center, Civic Ensemble, Out North Art House, and more. She is currently a 23/24 Constellation Fellow from the Center for Cultural Power working with Indigenous Roots. She received the 22/23 McKnight and 19/20 Many Voices fellowship at the Playwrights' Center. She's received support from Jerome Foundation, NET, Knight Foundation, NPN, MRAC, MSAB, and Coalition of Asian American Leaders. She was a member of East West Players 21-23 Playwright's Group. She holds an MFA in Playwriting from Brown University.

Isabella Star LaBlanc - She/Her

Isabella Star LaBlanc is a Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota actress, born and raised in Minnesota. Isabella has been seen at theaters across the country, including: The Shakespeare Theatre Company in DC; Cincinnati Shakespeare Company; The Jungle Theater; Mixed Blood Theater; and the Children’s Theater Company. Isabella is also a twice Audie Award nominated Audiobook Narrator who has recorded over a dozen titles, including the New York Times Bestselling novel “Firekeeper’s Daughter” by Angeline Boulley. Isabella is an alumna of the CBS Network Drama Diversity Casting Initiative, recipient of the 2021 Misty Upham Yale Young Native Actor Award, and a Princess Grace Award Honoraria. Onscreen, she can be seen in the basketball drama “Long Slow Exhale” from Spectrum Originals, as well as starring in the upcoming prequel Pet Sematary: Bloodlines on Paramount+ and the fourth Season of True Detective on HBO. 

 

In addition to our year-round staff, the Jungle Theater brings on a wide variety of people to create each show, which involves working with several unions.
